Days with Sarah! Cambridge and VIP Club Night.

On October 18th I went to visit Sarah in Cambridge. It was my first time taking a train other than Grandma Avis’s loop train in ND, and it was pretty cool. I had some issues with my ticket because I was a newbie, but I learned from my mistake and now I know what to expect!

I have to say, I love Cambridge the most of the places I’ve been in the UK so far, which admittedly isn’t very many. But still, Cambridge is beautiful and green and not too busy (at least while I was there). Sarah was kind enough to play tour guide, and we explored most of the town, which is not very big.

King’s College @ Cambridge University:

First we visited King’s College, which was really cool. The Chapel was my favorite, and I’m glad we paid to go in! King’s College seems to have a lot of ties to my favorite (JUST because I think he’s the most interesting, not because I appreciate his treatment of the ladies) king, King Henry VIII. Lots of history, and the place is covered in Tudor roses (carved in stone). NEAT!

After checking out the chapel, we explored the rest of the grounds of King’s College, and then walked around the town.

When we were done seeing most of the town and the school, we grabbed a couple of paninis and ate in a park.  Then we went to the mall and did a little browsing, which was a lot of fun.  It was really nice to get out of London and get to a place with more green grass and a little slower pace.

That Friday, the 22nd, Sarah came to London and we had a super awesome night at a VIP Club.  For such a fancy night, we spent next to nothing!

A couple of nights before, I had scored a couple of coupons for free meals at my favorite burrito place, Chilango.  So dinner was free.  Then we went to ULU (the University of London Union) for super cheap drinks for our pre-funk before the club: £1.50 each.  Some of Sarah’s friends met up with us there, which was a lot of fun.

Thanks to Sarah’s sweet connections, we got in to the club for free - it’s a club called Chinawhite, and it’s a members-only deal (without the 80’s jackets).  People pay a lot of money to get in there and sometimes there are celebrities, but not the night we went.  Either way, it was awesome.  We actually got stamps so we could go into the VIP room too.  And we got free champagne from boys twice (first glass of Dom Perignon ever!). It was soooo much fun to get dressed up and go to a classy place.

Sarah told me that usually guys like to try to find out why you’re at the club (because it’s for rich people, or cute girls), so we came up with back stories.  Sarah and her friends usually tell guys that they’re models, so since I’m so short we decided that I model childrens clothing.  Gap Kids is my thing.  I didn’t get asked that night, but I hope I can use that one sometime (and that I can keep a straight face).

Here are some pictures:

(we found a rose on the table)

The next day we decided to go check out Borough Market, which is probably the best market in London.  That I’ve seen, anyway.  There is so much cheese.  Other foods too, but I swear it’s like 70% cheese.  We had a goal to find these grilled cheese sandwiches that I kept reading about - and we found them - but my expectations were so high that I was a little bit disappointed.  It was still a delicious sandwich, but the Internet hyped it up too much.

So those are my most recent adventures with miss Sarah.  And it also covers like 3 days and 3 big experiences that happened while I was computerless: SUPERBLOG!
