Turns out there were only 6 states to conquer, so the last blog’s title is incorrect. I’m too lazy to change it. I thought I was going to go through the corner of Nebraska, but I-29 took me straight into Iowa.  And boy was I excited to see South Dakota go - although I slept like a baby last night in my fresh sheets.

I got off to a leisurely start and made good time through Iowa.  I stopped at a welcome center just to see what was up, got lunch (found out that Taco John’s is a big after church destination), and carried on.  I got to my hotel in West Des Moines around 3.

I drove to work first to see where it is.  I’m pretty jazzed to get in there and see the inside of the mansion I get to work in.  Then I drove to my apartment to see where that is for when I move in tomorrow.  Couldn’t figure out where to park, but I guess I’ll cross that bridge tomorrow.

I’m living downtown and it seems like a pretty cool area.  Some cute restaurants and bars within 2 blocks of my place.

That’s really about it.  I’ve been relaxing in my hotel for an hour or so, and I’m about to go find some dinner.  Nothing too exciting, aside from having my electricity and cable/internet accounts set up… woooo!
