Taking The Walk with Hanson!

Have we met?  Then you must know of my river-deep, moutain-high love for Hanson. Yes, Hanson.  Isaac, Taylor, Zac.  Those girls that sang MMMBop that are actually super hot dudes.

From 1997:

To now:

I have loved every sound they have made.  And their faces too, and changing hairstyles.

Imagine my excitement when I checked my Twitter feed yesterday and saw that they were doing one of their Walks in London TODAY!  They started a charity called Take The Walk, and usually when they have a show in a city they will do a one mile walk and donate $1 to charity for everyone who does the walk with them.  People can start their own too.  It all goes to helping fight hunger and AIDS in Africa.  Visit TakeTheWalk.net for more information.

So I got up today and went down to Kings College to Take the Walk with Hanson. They’re here doing five shows (which I didn’t hear about til it was too late, and they were all sold out), and apparently people have camped out to hold their spots in line for all 5 dates.  But whatever, I’m not standing in line to go for a walk.  Eventually everyone sort of moved into a big glob, and then of course it started raining because it’s London.

But eventually our boys emerged, looking so much more beautiful in person, and we started our walk.

It was pouring.  Thundering.  Lightning.  Ridiculous.  And let me point out that these boys walk these miles shoeless, like so many people in Africa have to.  I wore flipflops, that’s as close to barefoot as I’m going to get on London streets…  sorry.

I ended up towards the front of the group during the beginning and I did not see any of the Hanson dudes, so I kept hanging back a little.  During the walk across the Jubilee Bridge, I was about 5 feet from Isaac.

It was a pretty good time, despite the rain.  And yet I still hadn’t gotten a good look at my favorite, Mr. Zachary Walker Hanson.  Don’t worry, I captured him in all his adorable glory:

Isn’t he just the cutest?  Ugh.  What a lucky wife he has.  What lucky wives all of them have.  (Yeah, they’re all married, and they all have kids.  Taylor is 28 and has FOUR kids. Isaac is 30 and has 2, Zac is 25 and has 2.)

Anyway, that’s pretty much the coolest thing that’s happened to me over here.  I’ve never been so close to one of the Hansons before!  Dream come true.
